Burning Love

by Lord Fishbone

There was once a young furre named Marklain who worked as a cook in the kings castle. He worked very hard everyday to please his king. The king had a daughter whom he kept hidden from the public's view for some reason of his own. One day he decided to reveal her to the public. Because of her tremendous beauty every man who saw her lusted for her. All except for Marklain he felt something much deeper than lust. What he felt was true love. Everything about her was perfect, her voice, the way she walked, her eyes, especially her eyes, they were the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. But he knew that no peasant could ever be with the princess. It was forbidden to all but princes or other wealthy men. One night he saw her walking alone in the royal gardens. He approached her and asked, "Would like some company on this lovely evening my lady?".

She accepted and they walked in the gardens and talked for hours on end. When it got towards it was time for her to return to the castle they decided to meet in the gardens the following day.

The next day they again met. Again they talked and laughed together for hours on end. This continued for a week until one night their eyes met and they both fell into a deep embrace. That night they spent together. At dawn he kissed her good-bye and snuck out the window. For over a month they spent their days like that. Until one day the king discovered what was happening in his castle. He sentenced Marklain to be burned at the steak. The princess pleaded for mercy but the king showed none. The following day as he began to burn the princess could not stand to lose him, so she leapt into the fire, kissed him then they both died together. Because of the kings foolish mistakes not only did he lose his daughters love but her life as well. But the love between Marklain and the princess was so great death could not keep them apart. They spent the rest of eternity together.
