Diassa's Fury

She moved in shadow,
Silent as night.
Her blood running hot,
For the coming fight.
Her mate they had killed,
Her cubs they had taken.
A gentle soul,
Was to be forsaken.
No more gentle nature,
Gone was her grin.
She was the bringer of vengeance,
To the hyoomans within.
To the window she crept,
And peered through the glass.
Only two raiders were present,
She could not let this pass.
Quickly and recklessly,
She kicked open the door.
Knife at the ready,
Low to the floor.
She leapt on the first,
Surprise on his face.
One less preying member,
Of that beastial race.
Swiftly she moved,
Howling with rage.
Bloodlust in her eyes,
The battle engaged.
The hyooman though taken,
Aback by his terror.
Never had time to see,
His one fatal error.
The sword at his side,
Lie untouched and unused.
The blade through his heart,
Left him dead and confused.
Panting and shaking,
Though filled with relief.
She was suddenly filled,
With even more grief.
The hyoomans had left,
With her cubs for the mine.
Her efforts felt wasted,
She wasn't in time.
She roared out her rage,
Deep into the night.
Her emotions were bared.
By the dying firelight.
