Furcadia won't play MIDI files.

Only some operating systems, and only some soundcards support multiple programs using the sound at the same time. However, you can try setting the sound "Output Type" Furcadia uses to DirectSound which helps on some cases.

Close Furcadia and run the Furcadia Configuration and Troubleshooting utility.

Then select the "Music and sound" page from the tab list.

Try setting "Output Type" to "DirectSound".

Make sure "Output Driver" is set properly (you most likely have different drivers listed than the example picture does), the first item in the list is often the recommended one.

Press the "Save" button.

Try running Furcadia again.
