Frequently Asked Questions

What do Beekin Mentors do?

The mission of the Mentors is quality assurance of the Beekin Volunteer Program. To achieve this, mentors provide guidance and support to volunteers in the other Beekin groups. The Beekin Mentors have two primary tasks:

  1. Visiting the help areas and Beekin channels. Mentors regularly check in with the Beekins on duty.

  2. Individual counseling. Mentors offer focused one-on-one training to Beekins and are always willing to lend a friendly ear to their fellow volunteers.

How can I contact a Beekin Mentor?

The 'Meet the Mentors' page shows which mentors are currently on Furcadia. If you would like to talk to one, feel free to whisper him or her. Beekin Mentors are on duty whenever they are on Furcadia. If no mentors are currently online, you can e-mail the group heads at mentors@furcadia.com.

What does the group badge mean?

The Beekin Mentor badge shows two Beekins facing one another. It symbolizes teamwork and indicates the mentors' role as the helpers' helpers.

How do I join the Beekin Mentors?

The Beekin Mentors do not take applications; new members are selected for their good-natured, helpful attitudes and for their well-developed teamwork skills. All mentors understand that being a Beekin Volunteer is not about gaining rank or status, nor is it about being recognized or praised; it is about helping other players of Furcadia. None of the current members asked to be on the team.
